Shades of Blue in Mabuhay coast

Shades of Blue in Mabuhay coast

Bungdo is a kind of fishing method where several fishermen walk straight ahead to the sea with their nets at hand non stop until ample fishes are already inside the net. From the shore, the synchronized movement appears to be a sea tableau of men marching straight to the blueness of the sea.

On the horizon the light blue of the calm sky provides a softer blue to the intense blue of the ocean this morning in Barangay Mabuhay’s sea coast.

  1. Had you not mentioned them, it would’ve been harder to notice the men with their net. Faced with a wide horizon, one tends to overlook images within sight; like a sea shell next to one’s foot with a beach’s endless expanse in front. Optical illusion?

  2. My real intention is to bring to focus the local fishermen and their intimacy with the sea – but my digicam has its limit too. No. It is not an optical illusion. Maybe it is human nature not to notice and see the thing that’s right in front of our faces…
    Thank you for noticing!
